What is the sinker? Basic action of sinker
Sinker is the Second most important part of knitting. Sinker is a thin metal plate positioned in between the needles. Sinker to the direction of movement of needles and maintain a fixed height. It is used weft and warp knitting with latch needle as well as the bearded needle. The construction in addition to the function of the sinker varies from machine to machine. The phases of operation of sinker in weft knitting may be regarded as –
